As part of our ongoing work for Kaiser Permanente at their Sacramento Medical Center, HY Architects has been responsible for remodeling virtually every space within the entire campus including designing a new central utility plant (CUP).

The central utility plant included multiple scopes including a new CUP, a new basement, a new air handler unit within a new mechanical building for the 1960’s era Flats Hospital building, and a building addition to support a new air handler unit for the existing Camillia Hospital building. In addition, the project includes a pedestrian/utility bridge that is used to convey emergency and normal utilities from the new central utility plant to the Camillia Hospital Building and an auxiliary parking facility that features a vehicular bridge.
