The Project Accountant at HY is primarily responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes for the firm. This role will work closely with all our Project Managers to ensure project billing aligns with scope and progress throughout the lifecycle of each project. This role will be responsible for updating and issuing a large volume of invoices from our accounting software (Deltek Vision) on a monthly basis. This role will also play an active role in helping Project Mangers review reports and determine add-service needs to help ensure project financial success.

The Project Accountant must have excellent communication and customer service skills. They must have high attention to detail to ensure project information is updated correctly into the accounting system. They must be able to coordinate with clients and consultants to collect and provide necessary documentation in a timely manner. They must also be a team player, working collaboratively with the administrative team and all other staff.

Project Managers at HY lead our projects throughout all phases including design, documentation, plan check and construction administration. Our PMs play a significant external role, working closely with key client and agency contacts. PMs also manage our internal architectural support team, delegate responsibilities appropriately and are ultimately responsible for the success and budget of the project.

Project Managers ideally have a license and must have a degree in Architecture plus at least 8 years’ experience. PMs must demonstrate full technical understanding of construction documentation, detailing, code analysis, and specifications for multiple construction types and be able and willing to create those in Revit. Strong communication and management skills are a necessity to be successful with both clients and internal teams. We only want to work with people who strive to learn and who support the growth of others. Revit experience is a must, proficiency with Microsoft office products preferred.

Job Captains at HY Architects play an active role on different phases of project development. You will draft construction documents and provide training and direction to junior designers, taking responsibility for documentation completeness, code compliance and quality assurance. You will coordinate with consultants and external clients. You’ll conduct site surveys, support PMs with fee proposals and work plans, and attend planning and construction meetings.

Job Captains must have a degree in Architecture plus at least 5 years’ experience and are ideally working towards obtaining your license though not required. You should have a strong understanding of construction documentation and how different systems interact and how changes impact other parts of the project. You should demonstrate excellent communication and organization skills and be learning to effectively delegate and train junior staff. We only want to work with people who strive to learn and who support the growth of others. Current Revit experience is a must, proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred.

Designers at HY play an important role in our projects and receive opportunities that ensure professional growth. You will support multiple senior level Architectural staff on a variety of projects with varying scope and size. You’ll be invited to attend client sites to help with punch walks, meet with contractors & agency representatives and attend client meetings. You’ll assist with the development of architectural design and construction documents. You’ll become an expert in Revit. You’ll be introduced to the fee proposal process, submittal reviews and change order documentation – all in an effort to help you establish a full rounded understanding of the design process.

Designers must have a degree in Architecture and have ideally been exposed to Revit or already proficiently using it. We accept Designers with no formal experience who are ready and willing to learn. We also accept Designers who have been working for several years and are interested in focusing on the K-12 Education sector and intending to obtain their licensure. Designers at HY must have strong self-motivation and problem solving skills and a collaborative team attitude.
