Job Captains at HY Architects play an active role on different phases of project development. You will draft construction documents and provide training and direction to junior designers, taking responsibility for documentation completeness, code compliance and quality assurance. You will coordinate with consultants and external clients. You’ll conduct site surveys, support PMs with fee proposals and work plans, and attend planning and construction meetings.

Job Captains must have a degree in Architecture plus at least 5 years’ experience and are ideally working towards obtaining your license though not required. You should have a strong understanding of construction documentation and how different systems interact and how changes impact other parts of the project. You should demonstrate excellent communication and organization skills and be learning to effectively delegate and train junior staff. We only want to work with people who strive to learn and who support the growth of others. Current Revit experience is a must, proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred.

Designers at HY play an important role in our projects and receive opportunities that ensure professional growth. You will support multiple senior level Architectural staff on a variety of projects with varying scope and size. You’ll be invited to attend client sites to help with punch walks, meet with contractors & agency representatives and attend client meetings. You’ll assist with the development of architectural design and construction documents. You’ll become an expert in Revit. You’ll be introduced to the fee proposal process, submittal reviews and change order documentation – all in an effort to help you establish a full rounded understanding of the design process.

Designers must have a degree in Architecture and have ideally been exposed to Revit or already proficiently using it. We accept Designers with no formal experience who are ready and willing to learn. We also accept Designers who have been working for several years and are interested in focusing on the K-12 Education sector and intending to obtain their licensure. Designers at HY must have strong self-motivation and problem solving skills and a collaborative team attitude.
