The Hansen Family Health Center, designed by HY Architects for CommuniCare Health Centers, is situated on a 5.59-acre site and provides a range of services, including primary care, perinatal, behavioral health, health education/teen clinic, dental, and administration services. The building was designed with separate zones for each service, each with its own outside entrance. The dental clinic is equipped with four exam stations, two operatories, procedural rooms, support, and administration spaces, and a reception and waiting area.
As part of the scope, HY Architects was responsible for coordinating with the client, consultants, and general contractor on the total construction budget, developing the site plan, including parking, designing the interior/exterior signage, and assisting with zoning applications to the city. HY Architects participated in City & County DGS staff meetings and provided/presented plans to pass inspection/CA Department of Licensing and Certification site review. Additionally, they evaluated the pros, cons, and ROI associated with LEED.
