Designed by HY Architects, the Kaiser emergency department expansion project included the addition of two triage stations and the complete overhaul of the waiting area. The emergency eepartment was kept fully operational as the interiors were upgraded and utilities were tied into the existing building system with minimal disruption. The project also addressed new security requirements by reconfiguring the security desk to accommodate the installation of new metal detectors.
